Pumpkins Squash & Gourds

It’s my favorite time of year y’all! IT’S FALL! Leaves are slowly falling. The nights are turning cooler. The critters are frisky. Skunks are on the prowl and my Great Pyrenees girls got lightly sprayed last week! Yay me! We don’t have many trees on our home place, but we do have some tall old trees on the west bank of our pond. Every morning when I open the barnyard gate to let my does out to pasture, they run straight for the pond to eat the leaves that fell overnight. Leaves are the potato chips of the goat world!

Yummy recipes are endless this time of year! What are some of your favorite FALL recipes? Share them with me, please! One of my favorite recipes is simply old-fashioned PUMPKIN PIE and ice-cold milk or freshly brewed coffee!

Did you know pumpkins, squash and gourds are great for farm animals, pets and wildlife to eat? When your FALL decorations are put away and you make way for Christmas cheer, remember to share your pumpkins with God’s critters. Don’t throw them away. Break the pumpkins open and set them out for the squirrels, birds and other guys to enjoy. If you have a farm friend, you could drop them off at their gate and they will welcome the treat for their livestock!
