Where does our food come from?
Do you ever wonder where your food is sourced from? I do. I recently found out the brand of jarred, minced garlic that I purchase comes from China. China is the world's largest producer and exporter of garlic. The more I researched the more I realized how hard could it be to find American-grown minced garlic in the states? It wasn’t hard at all. California is a big grower of garlic.
I am on a mission to source everything we purchase from the United States and that includes our food. I am looking for local and American grown or produced sourced meats, fish, vegetables and non-perishable foods.
Garlic goes in most every dish I cook at home. Lots of garlic… Add garlic to a cast iron skillet of melted butter or olive oil and it is one of the best smells you will ever enjoy!
